How to do Ombre Lips

First there was ombre hair, then nails, and now – ombre lips. Thankfully they are the least time-consuming of the lot and you can get them in 4 easy steps!

What you’ll need: one dark lipstick, one lighter lipstick in the same colour range as the dark one, and a clear gloss. You can use any brands, as long as the pigments are strong.
1. Apply the darker shade straight from the tube as you normally would, covering both lips.

2. Next apply the lighter shade to the inner halves of each lip (so from half way down the lip, towards your mouth) so that the inner part of your lips are lighter than the outside.

3. Blend. This is the most important step. Use you index finger to gently blend the lighter shade outwards (we found tiny tapping movements worked the best). Just make sure you leave the edges darker.

4. Finally add a slick of clear gloss.
You can leave this step out if you’re not a fan of gloss, but we found that it accentuated the ombre effect.

Once you’ve mastered the technique, you can play around with it. Make the outside lighter, add more colours or grade the colours across your lips.

Be creative and have fun!!

RCMA Best Foundation Ever !

Why is RCMA better then other theatrical or amateur production make-up ?

First, Professional Make-up is primarily judged on foundation and here we have major differences between all other Foundations, commercial or theatrical, on the market today anywhere in the world. The basic qualities of RCMA "Color Process" FOUNDATION are:

  1. 1)It is manufactured under very stringent, small batch conditions where the ingredients are weighed out to the gram to maintain both consistency and color standards exactly.

  2. 2) It contains only vegetable oils, pure waxes and FDA approved colors. It does NOT contain any perfume, lanolin, petrolatum or mineral oil--the first two have caused allergenic reactions on some skins and the last two are not absorbed by the skin so remain to cause excess oiliness on the surface.  Note that theatrical foundations contain mineral oil or petrolatum ,as a major ingredient.

  3. 3)Exact color standards are maintained in RCMA FOUNDATIONS from batch to batch and tested on each run against standards. To a make-up artist this is most important for color-matching.

  4. 4)The selection of colors or shades varies throughout the required skin tones for all racial types plus the same base is employed for RCMA COUNTER SHADINGS, SHADINGS, CHEEK COLORS and COLOR WHEEL RAINBOW shades so that they all "powder down" with the same degree of reflectivity. Therefore, the CHEEK COLORS are not greasier or of different consistency from the FOUNDATION, nor are any of the special bright COLOR WHEEL shades.

  5. 5)In manufacturing, they are all made with at least 50% pigments to waxes and oils so that a very little goes a long way on the skin and produces as "skin color" rather than a heavy coat of make-up. Most commercial liquid foundations have a ratio of about 18 to 23 percent of pigment to the liquid and, in general, theatrical foundations normally run between 30 to 35 percent of pigments to waxes and oils. In this way, RCMA FOUNDATIONS cover better than others and more make-ups can be done per cake of make-up.

  6. 6)As such, RCMA
FOUNDATIONS last better throughout a long shooting day than comparably employed theatrical or commercial foundations, and require less ~ touch-up. When they do, there is no caking on the skin and RCMA "No-Color" POWDER is all that is required to slightly dull the low shine. In many cases of performers with dry skin, due to the low halation of RCMA FOUNDATIONS, no powdering is required--especially on men's make-up that is seldom if ever powdered.

Go ahead and try it for yourself and you too will see why make-up artists across the world will tell you

“RCMA is the professionals make-up!”

Marc Jacobs debuts colourful make-up line - with products named after his tattoos

Marc Jacobs has teamed up with Sephora to launch a colorful cosmetics collection featuring 122 products, some of which will be unisex.
The new Marc Jacobs Beauty line, moderately priced between $24 for a lip balm and $59 for a seven-color eye shadow palette, will debut on August 9th at Sephora and select Marc Jacobs stores.
'I’m surprised by how delighted I am with the results,' the 50-year-old designer told WWD. 'Now I want to see what the customer thinks. That’s the ultimate.'

Marc Jacobs make-up: The designer has teamed up with Sephora to launch a colorful cosmetics collection featuring 122 products, some of which will be unisex

The line includes four categories: Smart Complexion (foundations, concealer, powder), Blacquer (eyeliner, lash lifter, gel crayon), Hi-Per Color (lipsticks, blush, eye shadow, bronzer, nail polish), and Boy Tested, Girl Approved (unisex options of lip balm, brow gel, and concealer) .

And the name of each boldly colored product seems to be as provocative as the designer himself

Shameless is a $30 blush inspired by Mr Jacobs’ tattoo; Lovemarc is a $30 gel lipstick available in 16 shades  - all named after his favorite movies; and Style Eye-Con is a palette of dark eye shadows.
'To me "Shameless" is just an aspiration,' explained the designer. 'Whether it’s wearing a lace dress with a pair of boxer shorts or whether it’s taking off my clothes for a magazine or whether it’s admitting to my flaws or having a hair transplant, I’m not ashamed of what I do.'
Mr Jacobs, who is rumored to be leaving his post at Louis Vuitton after his contract ends in 2014, also credits his team's help in finalizing his new beauty line.
'In the end, I have to be the one to edit and to make the final decisions, but it’s not something I can do alone,' he admitted.
'I need to do that with, like, the trust and the creative input of other people — I am able to kind of find what it is I really like through the dialogues and the suggestions and what other people bring.'
Sophia Coppola is one star who has already taken the products for a test drive; The Bling Ring director wore only Marc Jacobs Beauty to last month's Met Gala.
'I like the idea of transforming oneself, making and modeling yourself to what you feel like being, whether that’s once a day, three times a day, seven times a week, whatever it is,' he said.
'I like the transformative qualities of fashion and fashion to me is not just clothing, it’s handbags, it’s shoes, it’s clothes, it’s hair, it’s makeup, it’s fragrance, it’s the whole ritual of making those choices, of enjoying the ritual, of making the choices that will tell the world who you want to be that day.'

Witty: The names of the products are as provocative as the designer himself; Shameless is a blush inspired by Mr Jacobs' tattoo, and Lovemarc is a gel lipstick available in 16 shades - all named after his favorite movies

Effortlessly cool: Most importantly, the designer wants his line to be unfussy and low-maintenance - helping girls to feel confident without perfection

Something for everyone: The line includes four categories, including Smart Complexion, Blacquer, Hi-Per Color, and Boy Tested, Girl Approved

For this reason, the thought of creating neutral shades for his beauty line was unappealing and 'boring,' he said.
'We spent a lot of time developing materials and choosing the colors,' he said of the bright color palettes. 'They tell a story and that story is based on a spirit. I chose different types of characters, such as an ingénue.'
Most importantly, the designer wants his line to be unfussy and low-maintenance - helping girls to feel confident without perfection.
'I believe in individuality, and what I think comes across as most stylish and modern is a kind of irreverence and a sort of self-confidence,' said Mr Jacobs.
'I don’t find beauty in perfection, meaning Photoshop and airbrush. That doesn’t appeal to me. I like a gap between the teeth, I like mascara that does run a little bit or makeup that’s smudged. I like a bit of imperfection — I find it just more interesting.'
